Daz to Unreal: State of Morphs

I’m planning morph fixes for my second update. I don’t consider morphs a working feature of the product right now, but given how much work there can be manually moving characters from Daz Studio to Unreal Engine, I wanted to release some information about the current state of morphs so you can decide for yourself if it’s worth dealing with the bugs.

The basic idea is simple. You check Enable Morphs, then under Choose Morphs choose the morphs you want to transfer. Using the filter or re-opening the window clears the list currently (that’s a bug). So avoid those.

Many of the morphs in the list are actually controllers for other morphs. I’m still working on making this list complete and removing things that shouldn’t be in there.

Under UE4.23, the morphs will come over separately for each piece of clothing. This was due to a change in the engine that was taken back out in UE4.24.

Morphs that scale the character skeleton can cause retargeting issues. I don’t think the Joint Control Morphs are showing up in the list properly. I haven’t managed to find the right controller for them.

If you’re on UE4.24 and willing to work around the bugs, some of the morphs do transfer correctly.
